The Distillery specializes in the production of spirits distilled from fruit, of which the famous kirsch of Fougerolles, water spirits who will benefit quickly from a great reputation and will thus be noticed at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
André, the son of Auguste, succeeded him, then Claude Peureux in 1948 with a focus on preserving the great traditions of Franche-Comté of elaboration of spirits and liqueurs that it perpetuates the expertise.
In 1950, technological research focuses on agribusiness, particularly special products for professionals in the catering trade. Claude Peureux launched in 1955 the morelo cherries for chocolate makers, then GRIOTTINES ® in the 1980s, wild Morello cherries macerated in Kirsch in light syrup, specialty now recognized worldwide.
At the Grandes Distilleries Peureux, the work of the master distiller begins in the heart of orchard to observe and select the best fruit. They will be his only raw material. Knowledge of varieties, terroirs, farming methods and crops are therefore a key element of its expertise.
