description

The Grappa di Barolo is a pomace brandy liquor based on Nebbiolo grape, also used for the making of the Barolo (one of the most famous Italian wines), is distilled by winemaster Capovilla in his famous bain-marie stills, just outside the town of Bassano. The Grappa di Barolo is a powerful liquor, highlighted by black grape, blackberry and flowers (rose, lilac and mallow).

Each bottle is hand-laced, hand-waxed, and finally hand-sealed, which shows how much care is taken in the process of making of this product. The hand-written label let you know about the fruit type, the year of harvest, and the number of each bottle. It is a real sterling work.

Its perfume is powerful and has concentrated, made of black grapes and other fruits (blueberry, blackberry, cherry and red currant) and heady flowers (tuberose, gardenia, and camellia). Its mineral side directs it towards stone fruits (prune, apricot). Once in your mouth, its taste is smooth and firm. The skin of grapes burst, freeing a deep red juice. Tannic, the middle of the tasting is enjoyed as a Barolo wine would be enjoyed, on fruity bouquet, spicy (cardamom) and balsamic (cedar). The final touch is impressive by its length. Because of a scorching summer, fruits are now dry (fig, date). To tell the truth, it is at the half way point between freshness and drought, their hearts are red, and their edges are crimson.
