Established in 1752 on the east bank of the Demerara River in Guyana, this distillery is the only one of the area still in existence today. The Demerara distilleries perpetuate the traditional production process. They still use distillers from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as rare, 250-year-old wood barrels.
