History

The name of Epoisses cheese comes from the city where it originated. The Epoisses cheese was imported to the court by Count Guitant, one of the gentlemen of the wardrobe of Louis XIV, the Epoisses cheeses enjoyed a great vogue. Later, Napoleon also had to appreciate it, while at the same time he met the famous wine of Chambertin, which he would never forget. The two form, it is true, a perfect combination. PDO since 1991.
